    The brigade traces its history to the 14th motorized rifle brigade formed on the basis of the directive of the USSR NPO No. 724986 of May 14, 1942. The formation of the brigade took place in the Vladimir village of Moscow (the modern district of Perovo) from May 17 to June 15, 1942.

During its existence under the previous name, the brigade took part in such battles of the Great Patriotic War as the Battle of Stalingrad, battles in the Rostov and Kharkov regions.

For the high military merits of the 14th motorized rifle brigade and worthy combat training, for the courage and heroism of the personnel, on the basis of the order of the USSR NCO No. 380 of December 8, 1942, the GShKA directive No. 36611 of December 18, 1942, was assigned the status of Guards.

Period of entry into the army: December 8, 1942 - April 2, 1943, June 10, 1943 - August 11, 1943, October 24, 1943 - May 12, 1944, June 10, 1944 - May 9, 1945.
